Dr Raji C.G is working as Professor and Head in NBA Accredited Computer Science & Engineering Department in MEA Engineering College, Kerala, India which is a NAAC Accredited Institution and Affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala, India.

Her thesis primarily examines neural network based computational methods for medical prognosis. Her research concentrates on the design, analysis, and implementation of provably good Machine learning methods. Her primary research interest is Machine learning algorithms in various application fields. She got an overall experience of 16+ years in the fields of academic teaching, research and administration. She has published several research papers in internationally reputed journals, Book chapter and conferences. She is the Principal Investigator of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Student funded project scheme. She is serving as Associate Editor, Editorial Board member and reviewer for various International journals and conferences. She is recognized as research supervisor in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and currently supervising research scholars in machine learning domain. She is holding a set of research publications in various reputed high impact journals, patents and conferences. Her remarkable research work “Long-term forecasting the survival in liver transplantation using multilayer perceptron networks” was published in IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems which has an impact factor of 9.309. Her publications include IEEE, Elsevier, Springer and Scopus indexed journals.



An Overview on Research Methodologies with an Introduction to “WEKA”

The current workshop is anticipated to cover the basics of research methodology centering on theoretical and practical inputs. Precisely, the creation of research problem, formulation of research hypothesis, conducting literature review, data collection, choice of suitable parametric or non-parametric statistical technique for evaluating data, extent the impact of published research at journal-level, article-level, and author-level and introducing the Data mining tool WEKA. The practice on WEKA includes Data Acquisition/ PreProcessing, Algorithm Learning, Result Analysis (Result Interpretation) and Decision making.


The participants can be able to describe the research problem, evolving an approach to research problem and choice of suitable research design. To experience the formulation and testing of hypothesis based on the nature of research. To understand the journal publication metrics at author level, article level and journal level. To analyze the research data by introducing the data mining tool “WEKA”. To experience “WEKA” in research.
